Paul Romer’s Course Reading List 2012
+ Brandon Fuller
Paul taught a course called the Urbanization Project at Stern last spring. Here’s a list of references and links to selected readings, some of which are ungated.
Though the course focused on the city as the unit of analysis, the goal was to impart broader managerial insights about the dynamics of technologies, rules, and social norms — insights that are useful for decision makers in a variety of social organizations, not just cities.
Students also got a preview of selected chapters from a forthcoming book about the history and future of urban expansion by Solly Angel, a scholar here at the NYU Stern Urbanization Project. More about Solly’s book as the publication date nears.
