SCALE + Lab Receives Support from
Blue Meridian Partners and the Pew Charitable Trusts
The SCALE + Lab, led by Senior Fellow and Research Professor Mindy Tarlow, has secured support from Blue Meridian Partners and the Pew Charitable Trusts to launch its Behavioral Health Emergency Response initiative (BHERi). Through this support, the Lab is seeking to reduce the likelihood that a call to 911 results in a person with a behavioral health crisis being harmed, and making it easier to connect people in crisis to services that improve their health and well-being. Leveraging initial planning assistance provided by Peg’s Foundation, the SCALE + Lab is focusing on three states, partnering with nonprofit organizations based in those jurisdictions. The aim is to create pathways to long-term impact for people in and among these states, and for these states to serve as models for others. Work to date includes hosting a multi-state “Impact Lab,” made possible with additional support from the Ethel and James Flinn Foundation.
