We are excited to announce that Justine Olderman has joined the NYU Marron Institute as a Senior Research Scholar, where she will be launching a project focusing on the practice of pretrial detention. Her work will explore the myriad harms of incarceration prior to adjudication and build a blueprint for reimagining our approach to pretrial justice. Justine holds a joint appointment at NYU School of Law, where she is a Distinguished Scholar in Residence with the Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law. Prior to joining Marron, Justine was Executive Director of The Bronx Defenders, where she worked for 23 years. She received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from NYU School of Law.
