NYU Marron Institute Response to COVID-19

At the Marron Institute, we believe that we are responsible for keeping one another safe. We are operating in accordance with all NYU, CDC, NYS DOH, and other federal and local guidelines to contain the spread of COVID-19, including by working remotely and practicing social distancing.

Because this virus is having an outsized impact in densely populated areas, the Marron Institute faculty and research staff are mobilizing resources and looking for solutions to the challenges of COVID-19. While in their early stages, these include:

  • Developing models for contact tracing and prediction of potential outbreak locations and at-risk hotspots.
  • Hosting learning sessions and sharing information across our practitioner networks on ensuring the safety of people in custody and those under justice supervision (whose reporting requirements may put them at elevated risk), their supervising agents, and their communities.
