Director of Marron Angela Hawken appeared on Brave New World, NYU Professor Vasant Dhar’s podcast, to discuss “her work as both a thinker in academia and a doer with government” and Marron programming:

I was trying to figure out how can we reduce the cost of doing experiments. And the insight was that our government partners, they were integrated into the research process, they have access to the data. A big part of a researcher’s problem when you’re setting up a project that makes it go slowly is data-use agreements, access, getting willingness to let them into your institutions. But, if these are their ideas, their institutions, their data, the whole process can move really really quickly.
