Supports Litmus to Build Reentry Employment Matching Tool

The Litmus program launched its first Data for Justice fellows program this summer. Students from the NYU Center for Data Science have been integrated into three Litmus project teams to advance the use of data science in criminal justice. One team is working to solve a pernicious problem facing people reentering into the community after a prison sentence—the challenge of securing employment with a criminal record—by creating a tool to match employers who are willing to hire people with justice involvement with people who have prior convictions. The pilot phase of this demonstration project is supported by an X-Grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
