Director of Litmus, Angela Hawken, and her team received an award from NAF, a national network of education, business, and community leaders who work together to ensure that graduating high school students are prepared for a successful future. The goal of the project is to develop a composite index that will allow NAF to put absolute and relative education outcomes of NAF schools into context. Litmus will partner with NAF to identify domains (such as health, housing, crime, and civic inclusion) and establish measures of these domains using a variety of data sources. The result will be a customized tool to automatically derive a composite, updated index. The index will allow NAF to interpret neighborhood-level education outcomes and identify which schools are operating in especially challenging environments and which are doing well at overcoming the challenges they face.
NAF's Marc Lesser highlighted Litmus’ partnership with NAF in a Medium post.
