Director of Urban Expansion, Solly Angel, and his team have partnered with C40 to create a training module for urban practitioners in 23 cities and 9 countries, focused on “Managing Urban Growth in Global South Cities.” These cities are part of UrbanShift, a global GEF-funded program promoting sustainable, integrated, and inclusive urban development across the Global South. C40 collaborates with the UN Environment Programme, the World Resources Institute, and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability on UrbanShift's capacity-and-knowledge building, which includes the creation of eight interconnected training modules for urban practitioners. These modules train public officials to tackle some of the most pressing challenges faced by Global South cities, ensuring that they adequately plan for projected population and income growth while remaining productive, inclusive, sustainable, and resilient to the risks of climate change.
