Urban Expansion: A Primer

The Urban Expansion program works to make room for residential land on the fringe of rapidly growing cities, ensuring housing affordability and access to critical infrastructure for all. Now several years on, the program is at various stages of work in countries around the world inlcuding: Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Mexico, Ecuador, Myanmar, Indonesia, and China. It is also engaged in a major research effort in advance of Habitat III in Quito, Ecuador: monitoring urban expansion in a sample of 200 global cities.
