Litmus Scholars Present
at National Substance Use Forum
Litmus scholars spoke at the 2023 Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program National Forum, co-presenting with justice agencies in action-research partnerships with Litmus in the NYU COSSUP Collaborative.
- Director of Litmus, Angela Hawken, presented on “Father’s Day Out: A Novel Intervention to Support Incarcerated Fathers With Substance Use Disorder and Their Minor Children,” with partners from the Nashville-Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and CrossBridge. Father’s Day Out supports incarcerated fathers in their recovery by bringing them together with their children for weekly meetings in the community, in a family-friendly environment.
- Litmus Senior Research Scholars Maureen Hillhouse and Janelle Prueter presented on “Virtual Reality as a Tool to Deliver Treatment Components for Substance Use Disorder,” with partners from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. ODRC is using informational and skills-building virtual-reality modules, developed in collaboration with Litmus, as an adjunct to substance-use-disorder treatment for incarcerated people.
