Director of Health, Environment, and Policy, Kevin Cromar, has been named by the WMO to be the US lead for the health working group of the Vegetation Fire and Smoke Pollution Warning Advisory and Assessment System. Along with co-leads from Mexico and Canada, Cromar will organize efforts to improve the assessment of health impacts from wildland fires and projections of climate-related health risks and other societal impacts, in coordination with other WMO working groups.
