Director of Health, Environment, and Policy, Kevin Cromar, spoke at two events on communicating health risks to the public.

  • Cromar was an invited keynote speaker at the first International Conference for Air Quality in Africa. His talk, “Health Applications of Air Quality Data from Global Forecasts and Satellite Imagery,” used examples from Senegal, Uganda, and Zimbabwe to illustrate how remote sensing and global models can supplement ground-based monitoring of outdoor air pollutants, and how to develop and evaluate effective risk-communication tools.
  • Cromar gave an invited talk at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST), “What We Can and Should Do to Combat Climate Change,” addressing scientists, healthcare practitioners in communities, and medical professional societies.
