Advancing the 911 Workforce

The SCALE + Lab hosted its first Advancing the 911 Workforce Convening at the Marron Institute in Brooklyn, New York, on March 19 and 20, 2026, bringing together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and workforce leaders to address shared challenges facing the 911 workforce. Through candid conversations, participants identified key gaps, challenged assumptions, and explored practical, scalable solutions for the nation’s nearly 9,000 Emergency Communications Centers. The convening sparked strong engagement, new ideas, and emerging collaborations that we look forward to building on in the months ahead. Many thanks to our convening partners: Jobs for the Future, The University of Chicago Health Lab, and The Volcker Alliance.
