Reet Kapur is a Research Scholar in the Human Exploitation and Resilience Program at the NYU Marron Institute. She monitors ongoing data collection and uses quantitative and mixed-methods approaches to analyze data and generate insights for projects focused on human trafficking, forced labor, and exploitation in the United States, Tanzania, and Costa Rica.

Prior to joining Marron, Reet was a Research Coordinator at the NYU School of Global Public Health, where she managed an NIH-funded study implementing tobacco use treatment in HIV clinics in Vietnam. Her previous work has included developing a trauma-informed model of care for survivors of sex trafficking at a New York City clinic and evaluating mental healthcare utilization among South Asian adults in the Tristate area.

Before transitioning to research, Reet practiced as a dentist in India. She holds a Master of Public Health from New York University and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, India. She volunteers with the National Alliance on Mental Illness in New York City.
