Joao Paulouro is a Fellow in the Transportation and Land Use program of the NYU Marron Institute, architect and urban researcher based in Lisbon. He has previously worked at DCG Lisbon automating urban morphological analysis, while completing his doctorate on the development of gated communities across the past four centuries within the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. His work specialises in furthering urban science through the development and application of multi-scalar data-driven methodologies, with a focus on geomatics and the study of emerging complex behaviour through local spatial operations. Joao holds a B.Sc. from UCL, an M.Arch. from ULL, and is currently awaiting his Doctoral defense at the University of Lisbon.
