Director of Air Quality, Kevin Cromar, gave a presentation at a recent symposium hosted by the NYU Grossman School of Medicine on “Asthma, Airways, and the Environment.” This continuing medical education course was held virtually and attended by pulmonary specialists, internists, pulmonary fellows, medical residents, and nurses. Cromar spoke on policy related to ambient air pollution including identifying opportunities for continued improvement in air quality. He emphasized addressing pollution hotspots and focusing on environmental justice in air-quality-management strategies. Special thanks to Joan Reibman, Gail Schattner, and Rebecca Florsheim from the School of Medicine, as well as Monica Kraft from the University of Arizona Department of Medicine, for organizing the symposium.
