Director of Transportation and Land Use, Eric Goldwyn, joined the Talking Headways Podcast hosted by Seamless Bay Area to discuss the California State Rail Plan:

Electrification is so important. If you want to be competitive with other modes of transport, I think as long as the train is lagging behind automobiles, it’s just going to be very hard to get real modal shift. And I think what we’re seeing with Caltrain is that electric trains really do get people to switch.
