Measuring Sensitivity to Social Distancing: Evidence of Racial and Income Disparities in Mobility and Complaint Data,” by Director of Civic Analytics, Constantine Kontokosta, Research Scientist Bartosz Bończak, and Associate Research Scholar Boyeong Hong, was accepted to the 2022 APPAM Fall Research Conference, “Advancing Policy Research with Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives.” They develop a method, derived from the Weber-Fechner law, to assess how tolerance to social-distancing infractions and complaint reporting behaviors vary with neighborhood characteristics during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
