Biography

Ariana Anderson, Ph.D., is a research contractor working with BetaGov and Segregation Solutions. Dr. Anderson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA. She was a recipient of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Award at the Scientific Interface. This was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences within the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Her research focus is to create algorithms to improve screening and treatment for mental-health disorders and to help identify and treat other health conditions. As an NIH-funded principal investigator, she studies mental-illness phenotypes to identify associated vascular changes preceding cognitive decline. She has been a featured speaker at the Institute of Medicine, the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics, the Multimodal Neuroimaging Conference, and International Meeting for Autism Research. Dr. Anderson has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. in statistics, both from UCLA.
